Welcome to middle school. Middle school years are a challenging time for parents and students. 
Students are starting to pull away from their parents and wanting more freedom to make their own decisions. 
Parents are trying to decide how much and how fast to let go.  Having a daughter who was in middle school
not too long ago, I would say that one of the most important factors in having success at middle school is
COMMUNICATION.

Communicate with your child about how things are going with friends, school and extra-curricular activities. 
Communicate with your child's teachers and the parents of your daughter/son's friends. Communication fosters
support for everyone.  My two favorite phrases are "there are two sides to every story and the truth is somewhere
